This arrived on my internet doorstep. Professionally executed “rapisodic drama” from comedic rap duo “Trizzle Threat”…. it’s solid; if they’re really on their grind I think they could give the SNL-sponsored The Lonely Island crew a run for their parody-money. (hmmm, a comedy rap summer jams with some Ether/Takeover like back-and-forth sounds dope; “burner at the side of your dome, get out of my throne” YES … but I digress…)
They execute the “Wonderwall” sampling fairly well. I suspect that’s a law of spoof-rap etiquette; you got to have fun with it, but the execution should be smart PLUS show genuine love for the art/craft. Smart means actually making good new lines/jokes, the love is not making the caricature grotesque. I imagine the knack comes from having the DNA of so many rap songs in your head you just know the ‘vibe’ and when you’ve lost it.
Anyspoof, the actual premise of the song threads into some of the “coding creativity” stuff I’m hot on, so I’ll save that for another time. For now I’m just hoping they go after Natalie Portman next. the game needs some photogenic beef right now, word …
